Work package number

WP5

Work package title

Promote access to EU networks and knowledge sharing

Objectives:

  1. To facilitate access to European R&I networks and communities

  2. To promote collaboration, knowledge sharing and cooperation

Task 5.1. To facilitate access to European R&I networks and communities, The ERDF beneficiaries will implement open access policies for publications, data, and research findings, aiming to foster knowledge dissemination and collaboration within European networks. To support this effort, the Garinis, Azzalin, and Krejčí labs will develop a user-friendly online platform, acting as a central hub for telomere research in Europe. This platform will provide information on ongoing projects, funding opportunities, workshops, seminars, and expertise directories related to telomere biology, promoting connections among TRIAD partners and organizations throughout the EU. Additionally, the teams will encourage the use of virtual collaboration tools, including video conferencing and webinars, to facilitate interaction among ERDF lab members, networks and communities.

Task 5.2. To promote knowledge sharing and cooperation, TRIAD will host networking events and workshops on telomere-related R&I themes. ERDF labs will seek funding from organizations like EMBL and FEBS for EMBO workshops or EMBO | FEBS Lecture Courses focused on telomere function and evolution in health and disease. Distinguished scientists will be invited for on-site visits and departmental talks at UC, iMM, or MU, offering hybrid participation options. These gatherings will promote collaboration and idea exchange among local researchers, innovators, and stakeholders. Identified industry partners, including start-ups and pharmaceutical companies at UC, iMM, and MU, will be engaged for potential collaborations, attracting competitive funding and driving innovation. To enhance cooperation with European R&I initiatives, TRIAD teams will adopt common standards and interoperable technologies for seamless communication and data exchange. Shared data standards and research protocols will ensure data consistency and easy integration, while collaborative tools and software will facilitate effective teamwork across locations. Harmonizing research practices and workflows will streamline collaborations and optimize resource utilization. These measures aim to bridge the gap between European R&I initiatives, accelerating progress and advancing R&I in the telomere field and beyond.
